    Re: Aion online...

Warning: It's most likely going to be a grindfest like Lineage 2 and most Korean games.

And HI, why did you quit WAR?

    Re: Aion online...

You think it's going to be like L2 and EQ with all the grinding?  Hasn't every MMO that came out in the last 4 years or so gotten away from that?  From what I read they are making it similar to WoW because WoW is / was a good game.  They want the millions of WoW players to comfortable and slip into Aion.  Then once they try it they will stick with it because it's new and has vast improvements.  Every other company has been making their games different from WoW to try and coexist and failing.  Will have to wait and see if they do go the grindfest route or not but I can't see anyone making a games like L2 and EQ again.

I quit WAR because PvE is a joke and PvP consists of attacking a door or massive zerg battles.

lol sounds like l2..but the attacking a door and massive zergs was the best part of l2.

    Re: Aion online...

So are any of you playing this?  It's in CN open beta and apparently the USA can get into it somehow or other.  The reviews I have been reading are pretty good but I can't help but wonder if it's another grindfest eastern MMO.

GET IN THE BETA AND LET US KNOW!

    Re: Aion online...

I havent been playing a whole lot but, to get to lvl7 it took about 3 hours maybe if even that..

Alot of people are getting up to like 25+ now it seems, some of ours that is.. so i guess it's better to ask them.

But so far, i kinda like it.. it seems like a mix between L2/WoW, ugly characters and lots of quests to do, with a nice background story.

The game defently has potential but i guess that's left to see in the US version aswell as higher lvls.

Only thing i can think of that i probably would get anoyed at is that it's another faction based game, but i guess the WoW people already learned to live with that.

    Re: Aion online...

It's a lot like wow in terms of leveling and questing. Also kinda like guild wars in teh way the map is laid out. The map was a track for the first 20 levels. I didn't like it because it gave the feel of an action game as opposed to an MMO but to each their own. The progression of leveling is slower than WOW but it's definitely linear in progression and it doesn't really take a long time to level. Definitely looks better than WOW. Doesn't have that epic feel like L2 does though.
