  • Second Thunderfury for Korrunga and 3rd Legendary for OA

The night started with disappointment and ended with joy.

A day after Independence Day, Oblivion Awaits still felt the hangover with a lower than expected attendence for AQ40.  Not knowing what immediately to do we quickly headed over to Onyxia's lair to bitch slap that dragon around earning some cool Dragon Killing Points (DKP).

Slowly realizing that AQ40 wasn't going to happen we brought the varsity team for a serious Molten Core run.  On a beautiful Shaman Earthfury night, aka Gobtai night, we ran through Molten Chore at our normal pace.  On most nights people usually mention the binding but seemingly on this night it seemed to pass by everyone's minds.  At Garr we assigned targets like usual.  After our normal focus fire and easy kill of Garr I suddenly heard Xchi make a feminine noise.  Not completely caught off guard from Xchi, I then heard, "I'm sorry but I had to peak!!".  Normally that type of haphazard comment would have been put on the wayside, however that seemed to cause everyone to instantaneously realize that the infamous Garr binding had dropped.

The normal Molten Chore raid had quickly transformed into the LEGENDARY Molten Core run.  The arcanite bars that Korrunga had saved up finally found a purpose, minus 20 of course that needed to be made with no problem at all.  Korrunga quickly ran over to Silithus and grabbed the quest and came back just in time for Ragnaros.  After Baalor recieved his Leggings of Wrath we headed to Silithus for the event.

If people didn't know, the Bindings are actually quest items that activate a quest chain that leads to the legendary Thunderfury as a quest reward.  The only obstacle left would be to defeat Thunderaan The Windseeker.

Very Ragnaros like, he bows for the camera.  After a quick schooling by OA might, he easily let go of his [Dormant Wind Kissed Blade]Korrunga picked it up and he was rewarded with [Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker].

....Began the celebration and cheers as Korrunga displayed his brand spanking new Thunderfury.

Thanks goes out to everyone involved.  Congratulations Korrunga, the wait is finally over.  Oblivion Awaits has recieved it's 3rd Legendary weapon.  Now it's time to pwn!!!

  • Oblivion Awaits Downs Nefarian!!!!!!

On our third night of Nefarian pulls, Oblivion Awaits downed Nefarian.

The night started like the two previous with dry pulls to get phase 1 down.  Luckily we were working with the Black and Bronze Drankonids so Nefarian was definitely ripe for the picking.  During this night not only did Nefarian feel threatened but Blizzard did as well so they decided to crash the login servers on us attempting to extinguish our blazing hot fire of determination.  However tonight we weren't to be denied.

After two hours of repeated wipes on Nefarian the mood seemed gloom, however like a holy destiny of fate the clouds parted and the login servers let people back on.  As the guild officers contemplated calling the raid, everyone seemly all at once logged back on.  At that moment I knew we were going to take down Nefarian.

Phase 1 wasn't clean but OA was able to recover onto phase 2 and walk the relatively smooth path to 22%.  The moment of truth was upon OA at this time.  Could OA handle the constructs at 20%?

    Yes

    The rest is history

......is what happened after we handled the constructs.  The party was on and the group picture was definitely a must.

We then headed back to Org with our head in hand ready to tell the world that OA had downed Nefarian.

As we waited for the head to be displayed.................

Congratulations to everyone at Oblivion Awaits.  Our hard work finally paid off. :)

Special thanks goes to Vizel for being the field marshal in command during the encounter and Lamarcus.  Lamarcus was the man who coordinated the details and organized the materials to down Nefarian.  Without him none of this would have been possible.  /cheer

Other congrats goes to Wisdikin on his Nemesis Robe, Korrunga on his Archimtiros' Ring of Reckoning, Annarexic on her Neitharion's Tear, Lamarcus on his Stormrage Chestguard and Ennokus on his head of Nefarian.

Congrats again Oblivion Awaits.  Ahn'Qiraj now awaits.

  • Down goes Chromaggus, Down goes Chromaggus

Oblivion Awaits downs Chromaggus on it's second night of attempts.  Congrats to Frosthoof on the Epaulets of Ten Storms and Primalist's Linked Waistguard, Rolaque on his Stormrage Pauldrons and to Zonex on his Elementium Reinforced Bulwark.

    Keep it up guys, congrats

  • Broodlord Lashlayer No More!

In an exciting time for Oblivion Awaits Thursday night we were able to continue our march of domination upon Blackwing Lair by pwning Broodlord on our 2nd pull, first pull of the night.

The night started with an awkward fight against Razorgore.  After every wipe everyone starting having doubts in our ability to down Razorgore without lag.  However by our 4th pull everything came together and we were able to move on.

After we bitch slapped Vael, the supression room awaited.  On a side note, in my opinion the Broodlord Lashlayer fight has to be the easiest so far that we have encountered in BWL.  The fight itself was a typical tank and heal fight with nothing more to it.  Even though our main tank Zonex got one shotted twice (being combat rezzed both times) Baalor stepped up and represented for his troll class carrying us to victory.

    Warriors!!!  Represent!!!

Standing over my slaying. (With the help of OA of course)

Congrats to Ajeet on his Boots of Transcendence, Sagaciouszu on his Black Brood Pauldrons, and Xchi on his Bloodfang boots.  I also recieved the head, the head of Broodlord lashlayer that is to start me on the long journey towards another uber weapon.

Congratulation Oblivion Awaits, continue the pwnage.

    Firemaw next, stay posted everyone.

    P.S.

Huh? 1625WF single crit?  How'd this picture get in here?

  • The Cold Slap of OA downs Vaelastrasz the Corrupt

The downing started on our third night of official attempts.  Before hand we experienced excruciating wipes at 1%.  Our guild was becoming antsy and our excitement was being over run with anxiety.  This was further induced by Blackwing Lair's crappy lag. (GG Blizzard)

Under 5% of health all that I heard was, "Don't look at his health! Don't look at his health! Continue what you're doing!"  Ironically I myself was not looking at his health until that comment.  At that moment I creamed myself, and I'm pretty sure everyone else did.  However the pain of our 1% wipes quickly led everyone to concentrate even harder at downing him. With all our main allstars of the guild and some newly added ones we downed Vaelastrasz.

After a moment of silence, I threw down my headset in searing joyful pain for my ears.  The bitch was dead and the cheering began.  However this moment was made a little bittersweet by the non-shammy drops. :(  j/k

The supreme OA regulators fresh off their kill.

Congrats Oblivion Awaits; 3 bosses within the past week and a half, /cheer.

  • Oblivion Awaits receives Sulfuras, Hand of Ragnaros; Congrats Splinter

During my night of the PvP grind Splinterhoof sent me a tell asking me if I could find any more sulfuron ingots with a tone conveying his impatience and depression.  I quickly asked around my connections and Horanax, main tank of Legions of the Horde, said he could help us find 4 more sulfuron ingots.

As word of the news spread Splinterhoof became estatic with joy.  Asking Tuhar, from Unknown Entity, to help; a party of 5 with Fentar, Chaeson (as Albinus), Zonex and Splinterhoof headed to BRD towards the dark anvil.  After clearing and killing Lord Incendius whom guards the dark anvil, the stage was set.  I handed Tuhar the mats and we all took a moment of silence.

Thus the labor begins in all of its might....err.....wrath..

After all that tauren love and hard work by Tuhar; Behold Sulfuras, Hand of Ragnaros

Special thanks goes out to Legions of the Horde for the ingots, Horanax for asking for the ingots, and Tuhar the craftsman of the Hand.

Congratulations Oblivion Awaits on your second legendary within a month and Splinterhoof.  Wreck faces!
